  • What should I bring to my first visit?

On your first visit to our office, please bring your insurance card and our First Visit Packet already completed.  If you do not bring it with you, please come 15 minutes early so that we can see your child on time.

Your insurance determines your coverage.  Any amount not covered by your insurance will be due that day.

  • We have more than one child, may they be scheduled together?

  • Do you accept insurance?

We accept most insurance plans and as a courtesy, we will submit your insurance claim for you.  The portion that is not covered by the insurance company is your responsibility and due at the time of service. If payment is not met in full at time of services, then a statement will be sent to you and will reflect a service fee.

It is a benefit to you to know and understand what your insurance benefits are, including deductibles and co-pays. Regrettably, we do not dictate insurance policies and can only work with them. We will make every effort to help you understand what your coverages are.

  • May I stay with my child during the visit?

Yes, we invite you to stay with your child during the initial examination.  During future visits, if you choose, you may observe your child receiving treatment.  Please feel free to ask questions at any time.

For the safety and privacy of all patients, children who are not being treated should remain in the reception room with a supervising adult.

  • My child may be nervous. How can you help?

It is quite normal for children to be anxious about their first visit to the dentist.  Pediatric dentists have special training in helping anxious children feel secure during treatment. Also, pediatric dental offices are designed to make children feel comfortable. Dr. Solis and his team will do their best to make your child comfortable.  Feel free to let your child bring their favorite comfort toy or blanket. Team members choose to work in our pediatric dental practice because they enjoy working with children.

  • What is a knee-to-knee exam?

Dr. Solis may examine your child’s teeth in a knee-to-knee position with your assistance if your child is very young.

Dr. Solis will sit facing the parent with the child in the parent’s lap

The child’s head is then placed in Dr. Solis' lap while the parent holds the child. It’s easy to examine the teeth and other oral structures in this position.
